"Keeping You Informed"

The School Messenger automated system used by Palacios ISD, enables school administrators to record, schedule, send, and track personalized voice messages to students, parents and staff. For added convenience, messages sent by district personnel using School Messenger are listed below:

Sent:  September 12, 2011
Palacios Junior High will host a “Meet the Teacher Night” on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.  Also that evening, the Junior High will be sponsoring a BBQ chicken dinner before the open house begins.  The serving of the meal will begin at 4:00 p.m. and end at 6:00 p.m.  The profits from this fundraiser will be used to fund school trips.  

Our BBQ chicken dinner is being prepared by Mustang Creek BBQ in Louise. The meal will consist of ½ BBQ chicken, buttered potatoes, green beans, and bread; all for only $8.00 per plate.  Dine-in or plates to go will be available.  We need parents to bring baked items to sell for dessert.  They will need to be in the office or cafeteria before 4:00 Tuesday, September 13.  Please have each serving wrapped individually or placed in baggies.

Also if you have not bought your tickets yet, please contact the junior high office. We still have some plates available for purchase. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to support PJHS and have a delicious dinner!!!

Palacios Junior High is hosting a Parent Academy on Tuesday October 25. Please join us in the PJHS library at noon or 5pm. We will be discussing the new state assessment program, STARR, which is replacing the TAKS test.

The STARR test will be significantly more rigorous than the TAKS test, and will measure your child’s performance, as well as academic growth. We will also discuss out new curriculum , CSCOPE. We hope that you can join us.

Good evening, this is the Palacios Junior High School English Department will be hosting our fourth annual Fall Reading Night out at the Marine Center on Tuesday, November 8th from 6:30-8:00pm. Our theater arts students will be performing three skits. We will have games and snacks, and maybe even a hayride! So, come on out to the Marine Center next Tuesday evening and enjoy fall, friends, and family!  We look forward to seeing you there!  Have a nice evening.

This is Mr. Mooney the Assistant Principal of Palacios High School. Report cards were distributed to students on Thursday, November 17.  I’m calling to let you know that your child did not pass one of more classes and must attend mandatory tutoring. Please refer to the report card to know what classes they did not pass. The schedule of teachers tutoring times can be found in the high school newsletter or on the Palacios High School website by clicking the faculty tab on the left hand side of the screen. Good evening this is PJHS…attention parents…our Science Fair projects   for 8th grade are due next Thursday 12/15/11. Mrs. Adkins and Mrs. Richter will be available after and before school to assist students as needed. Please encourage students to get their projects in and let’s make our PJHS Science Fair a huge success!!!  Also progress reports will be mailed out 12/14.

Sand Shark Productions, the JH Theater Arts class, will present two shows of “Don’t Fear the Reaper” tomorrow at the Fine Arts Building. 7th graders will attend the 10AM performance and 8th graders will attend the 11:45 performance. Please come and enjoy the show!  Parents, don’t forget we have benchmark testing next week.

This is Carolyn Kubecka, principal of East Side Intermediate.  Parents can now view their child’s grades and attendance in addition to setting up alerts through the txconnection parent portal located on the PISD home page.  Papers were sent home with your child this afternoon with log-in information. Please contact the school at 361-972-2016 if you are having difficulty accessing this information.
