Sharkspeare Theater
Palacios High School Theatre
Sharkspeare Theatre is a very active organization on campus. Sixth period advanced students perform the annual fall play in November and the one act play in the spring. There is a strong tradition of excellence in OAP that has been set since 2003 (see results below).
Fourth period and first period classes perform improvisations, pantomimes, write scenes of plays, and study acting techniques in the first semester. In the second semester, students perform a play in May.
Ms. Charlton welcomes and encourages all students to participate in a Fine Arts course at PHS. She, along with Mr. Dean (choir), Mr. Popham and Mr. Schurtz (band) strive to maintain an excellent Performing Arts department. The other fine arts courses are taught by Mr. Garnett, the art teacher.
Students in the advanced class will be taking on the challenging task of performing the Shakespearan play A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Renaissance Festival on Wednesday, November 2. This will also be performed at the annual fall play on Thursday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m.
