School Board Elections
-
The Palacios ISD Board of Trustees consists of seven trustees who serve three year terms. Elections are conducted in May in accordance with the Texas Secretary of State Uniform Election Calendar. While candidates run for specific places, they do not represent specific geographical areas; rather, each represents Palacios ISD.
The candidate who receives the highest number of votes for each position will serve as a trustee. Runoffs are not conducted unless there is a tie.
In accordance with the Texas Education Code and the Texas Election Code, mandatory joint elections are required for school district trustees. Palacios ISD board elections are held on the same date as the City of Palacios.
