Instructional Settings

Mainstream. This instructional setting is for providing special education and related services according to Individual Education Programs to students whose instruction and related services are provided in regular education with special education support.

Homebound. This instructional setting provides special education instruction to students who are served at home or hospital bedside.

Resource. This instructional setting is for providing special education instruction in a special education setting for counseling, psychological services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or academic instruction for less than 40% of the school day.

Speech Therapy. This instructional setting is for providing speech therapy services.

Self-contained. This instructional setting is for providing special education instruction and related services to students in a special education program for more than 50% of the regular school day.

Vocational adjustment class/program. This instructional setting is for providing special education, academic, or job-related instruction to students who are placed on a job with regular scheduled supervision by special education staff.
