• On June 18, 2024, the Palacios Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to accept the resignation of Marcos Aparicio.  The Board is searching for candidates to fill the trustee vacancy, who are interested in serving as an appointed school board member for the unexpired term of former trustee, Mr. Aparicio until the next School Board general election (as a special election) in May 2025.   

    To be eligible for appointment a candidate must have the qualifications set forth in Election Code 141.001(a) of the Texas. Election Code 141.001(a).  Legal qualifications include that you must be a U.S. Citizen; 18 years of age or older; not convicted of a felony; mentally capacitated; a qualified voter; and reside in the state for twelve months and in the District boundaries for six months prior to appointment.  For more details, please consult Policy BBA (LEGAL).
